Fabio Quartararo secured his second consecutive MotoGP pole position by outperforming Marc Marquez at Le Mans on Saturday morning, gearing up for a perfect home race weekend.
Yamaha rider Quartararo triumphed over the factory Ducati in Q2, echoing his Jerez success.
Alex Marquez of Gresini Ducati claimed the third starting position, while Francesco Bagnaia settled for sixth on the second factory Ducati.
An eventful Q1 session saw Ai Ogura’s Aprilia causing a brief interruption, with Johann Zarco eventually rising to the top, securing a spot in Q2 alongside Raul Fernandez.
Marc Marquez set an impressive lap record in Q2, but it was Quartararo who snatched pole position with a remarkable final lap, while Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer completed the front row.
Bagnaia’s sixth-place finish left him over seven tenths behind the pole-sitter, joined by Maverick Vinales on row two, shaping up an exciting race lineup for MotoGP fans at Le Mans.
